Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at Synapse Inc (“Synapse”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Synapse Inc is a Delaware corporation that has created a notification scheduling Platform known as Daywise. A User can access and use Daywise by downloading it on their mobile device as an application (“App”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. When you visit our website http://getdaywise.com, mobile application, and use our services, you trust us with your personal information. We take your privacy very seriously. In this privacy policy, we seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it and what rights you have in relation to it. We hope you take some time to read through it carefully, as it is important. If there are any terms in this privacy policy that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of our Sites or Apps and our services.

This privacy policy applies to all information collected through our website (such as http://getdaywise.com), mobile application, ("Apps"), and/or any related services, sales, marketing or events (we refer to them collectively in this privacy policy as the "Services").

Please read this privacy policy carefully as it will help you make informed decisions about sharing your personal information with us.

Synapse is committed to the privacy and security of your data. Our goal is to help you organize, find, and use your data to be your most productive self while respecting your privacy and honoring the commitments we've made in this Privacy Policy.

Also, please check this privacy policy frequently for any changes. Synapse reserves the right to modify or amend the terms of this Privacy Policy as per Section 12.

Capitalized terms not defined herein have the same meaning ascribed to them under the Terms of Use, unless otherwise noted here.

1. Introduction to Daywise

Daywise is our state of the art notification scheduling platform developed and owned by Synapse. The information collected by Synapse as detailed under this Privacy Policy enables the provision of the Services. Our app gathers information from and about notifications received on a User’s Mobile Device and uses this information to provide scheduling Services to Users.

2. Types of information collected by us.

Daywise helps you manage notifications on your phone by showing you the most important notifications immediately and scheduling the rest for later in a neat inbox. In order to provide this service we access, collect, and organize the following information:

  • Information pertaining to the time zone that you are based out of
  • Incoming notifications and related metadata
  • All phone events including but not limited to information pertaining to your phone unlock, phone display settings, screen settings
  • Information relating to mapping of Mobile Device ID and Advertising ID
  • Email address to create an account
  • We use third party services like Amplitude, Firebase and Google Analytics. These services may automatically collect certain information when you visit, use or navigate the Services or Apps. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services or Apps and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services or Apps, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes. Please note that all contents of notifications stay on your phone. We don’t store them on our servers.

3. Authorization to access notifications

As mentioned above, when you download and use our App and our Services, we receive access to all the notifications received on your Mobile Devices on a regular basis. You hereby expressly authorize us to receive access to all notifications received on your Mobile Device.

Please note that while we require access to this information, we DO NOT store contact names, text messages, contents of notifications on our servers.

Additionally, when you download and use our Services, we are able to access the content of all your notifications including personally identifiable information. Such information includes but is not limited to contact names, third-party app names, text messages, personal and professional alerts, email notifications, calendar invites, weather and traffic. You hereby expressly authorize us to access all the contents of your notifications. Daywise requires access to these notifications for it to fully function.

Again, please note that while we require access to this information, we DO NOT store contact names, text messages, contents of notifications on our servers.

We collect information from or about the mobile device when you access and use our Services. We may associate the information we collect from your different devices, which helps us provide consistent Services across your devices.

The data regarding the notifications, along with the contents of this notification is an essential component that is required to satisfy the core functionality of our app. We use the notifications and the content therein to assess and create general rules regarding the importance and relevance of each notification. Thereafter, we use this assessment to provide users with our Services.

4. How we use your information?

The information collected from Users helps us in the following:

  • To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us;
  • To personalize User’s experience on the App;
  • To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection.
  • To notify you about changes to our App, Website, Platform and/or Services;
  • To allow you to interact with the App and personalize your experience with the App;
  • To send you marketing emails and notifications regarding the Daywise App, Website and Services;
  • To provide customer support;
  • To monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our App, Website and/or Services;
  • To administer contests, promotions, or a survey regarding the App, Website and/or Services;
  • To investigate and prevent fraudulent transactions, unauthorized access to our App, Website and/or Services, and other illegal activities;
  • For any other relevant purpose with your consent.
5. Information storage

We do not store any contents of your notifications on our servers. Contents of notifications include title and text. The only data we store is in the form of metadata and Daywise app usage statistics. Metadata means a set of data that provides information about other data, metadata may be either structural, administrative, or descriptive. Some examples of metadata include statistics regarding the number of notifications received on a Mobile Device, package name, notification channel that was used to send the notification, the approximate time when notifications are received, opened and deleted. Additionally, we store the email address that was provided to create an account and subscription purchase information, to tie subscription to specific user accounts and to assist with customer support.

6. Disclosure of information

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your personal information (“PII”) to others, except: (i) as provided in this Privacy Policy, (ii) to defend against legal claims or otherwise protect our rights, (ii) as required by law, judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on us, (iv) for purposes of law enforcement investigations, (v) to protect rights, property, or safety of our customers, and/or (vi) with your consent.

Synapse reserves the right to use the metadata to market our future products and services. Please note that metadata does not contain any PII.

We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company, but only if such company agrees to keep such information private.

If you submit information through our App or Website or by any other means, you agree that we may share the information you submit with third parties, as necessary to respond to your request. Such third parties’ use or disclosure of the information you submit is subject to their privacy policies and practices and we have no control over the subsequent use or disclosure of any information you provide. If we offer functionality to share information via email or social media on our App or Website and you choose to use such functionality, the information you provide may be shared with recipients. We may share with third parties, including but not limited to, other users and vendors: (1) information you submit in your account, and (2) your Feedback regarding our App, Website and Services. The third-party service providers that we use help us in performing various functions such as processing credit card transactions, analyzing data and providing marketing assistance. All service providers are contractually required to treat PII as confidential.

7. Our cookie policy

Cookies are small pieces of text used to store information on web browsers. Cookies are used to store and receive identifiers and other information on computers, phones, and other devices. Other technologies, including data we store on your web browser or device, identifiers associated with your device, and other software, are used for similar purposes. In this Privacy Policy, we refer to all of these technologies as “Cookies.”

We use Cookies to compile data regarding user interactions with our Platform, Services and other functions as they relate to our App and Website. However, you can set your browser to refuse all or some browser Cookies, or to alert you when Cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse Cookies, please note that some parts of our App, Website or Services may then be inaccessible or not function properly.

8. Children under 13

Our App, Website and/or Services is not intended for persons under 18 years of age. No one under age 18 may provide any information to our App or Website. SPECIFICALLY, WE DO NOT KNOWINGLY COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN UNDER 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on our App and/or Website about yourself, including your name, address, telephone number, email address or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. 9. Your California privacy rights

Synapse does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside third parties your personal information. California Civil Code Section § 1798.83 permits you to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 10. Users outside the United States

Synapse is headquartered in the US. Any access to the App, Website and the Services are only available for use in the US and select parts of the world. Please be aware that the information you provide to Synapse may be processed and transferred to the US and be subject to US law. The privacy and data protection laws in the US may not be equivalent to such laws in your country of residence.

Our App is not yet available for use and download in the European Union and Switzerland. Currently, we are not providing Services in the European Union and Switzerland. Please do not register for our Services if you live anywhere in the European Union or in Switzerland. If we discover any unauthorized registration on our App, Website or Platform, we reserve the right to terminate the registration.

By using the App, Platform, Website and/or the Services, or by providing Synapse with your information (as detailed under this Privacy Policy), you consent to this collection, transfer, storage, and processing of information to and in the US. Synapse will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You may terminate your Services by emailing or writing to us at privacy@getdaywise.com.

11. Data security

We have implemented and designed several measures to secure your information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure.

However, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Website and/or App. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Website and/or App.

12. Modification

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change or modify our Privacy Policy at any time. In the event, we modify the terms of our Privacy Policy, such modifications shall be binding on you only upon your acceptance of the modified terms. We will inform you about the modifications via email or comparable means within 15 days of such modification. We will also post the modified version on this page. Your continued use of the App and the Services shall constitute your consent to such changes to our Privacy Policy.
